I understand and acknowledge that participation in this program may involve emotional expression and personal reflection and may bring up difficult memories or emotions.
I understand that there is no requirement whatsoever to disclose painful or traumatic memories, private experiences, or distressing personal information to facilitators, other participants, or the public. I may write and reflect privately and share only what I freely choose. I may withhold personal details from submitted assignments, decline any questions or invitation to share, or pause r stop a reflective r sharing activity without having to explain my decision or losing access to the program. RBE and its facilitators will respect these boundaries and will not pressure me to disclose personal information.
I assume full responsibility for my participation, including my mental, emotional, and physical well-being during and after the program. I hereby release and hold harmless Real Black Excellence, its directors, staff, volunteers, contractors, and venue partners from any and all claims, demands, or liabilities arising from my participation, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional wrongdoing.
I understand that this program is not medical treatment or therapy and does not replace professional counseling, mental health care, or medical advice. While ALEC[tion] is a way to uncover and introduce participants to the testimony and the story of God who is The Wonderful Counselor, RBE is not a counseling organization and is not attempting to service in the role of a counselor. Participants are encouraged to seek qualified professional care when such services are needed.
By agreeing to this waiver, I acknowledge that I have read and understand this section and that my participation and my personal disclosures I choose to make are voluntary.
